CANON is affectionately referred to by its competitors as ‘The Dark Side’—exactly why this is so remains a mystery. Or Maybe Canon uses deeper blacks in their body colour or maybe it’s the weapon of choice for a Pro Jedi, a master of the dark side of the force? Or maybe not at all—considering the overwhelming number of white lenses on the Canon, there should be no doubt who the master of light is (sigh! so many optics so little cash). Whatever the reason, the war between the two biggest stars in the photography industry wages on!
Today, at the Canon Pro Seminar jointly organised by Canon and their Brunei distributor, Interhouse Company walked us through a number of key differentiators, instilling better understanding of the EOS advantage and taking the mystery out of high end DSLR photography!

Canon DSLR owners all over the world are keeping a watchful eye on the possible announcement of the EOS 5D successor after much speculation of its imminent release the week. If you thought the this cryptic Japanese magazine was about to unveil the 5D successor, you thought wrong and from my source, it isn’t going to happen anytime soon either. Those dying for a 5D Full Frame upgrade, keep your fingers crossed.

Roland Poon, Senior Manager of Consumer Imaging & Information Products Division gave us a live demo of the WTF-E2A Wireless Transmitter mounted on the 1Ds MKIII flagship. The new device is a far cry from the bulk of the first model.

EOS quality so breathless A seasoned and recently WPJA-accredited wedding professional, Jason’s recent switch to the EOS system with the full frame 5D obviously left him more than impressed—he was stunned in awe at the quality of the EOS system as we’ve have been for a long time! Guys, let us welcome him into our humble abode 🙂

Here’s the cool surprise I hadn’t expected to see and touch—the magnesium alloy skeleton of the EOS 1 series that many of us have only seen on Canon websites and brochures. Wonder if you had all the money in the world could you order one in titanium. Surely if DELL computer made a custom Ti chassis of their Inspiron laptop for the movie THE ITALIAN JOB, a Ti EOS isn’t unthinkable.

The 1DS MkIII was officially launched last year at the grand venue of the Berkshire Hall at the Jerudong Polo Club—EOS TRULY. A CANON SHOWCASE. A camera that packs this much punch in the hands of International acclaimed AGWPJA wedding photographer such as good friend Stephen Loh of Lyrical Moments produces magical results.
