The current world record for Most People Dressed As Sunflowers — 229 pupils and staff at Thorndown Infant and Junior Schools in St Ives, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom. Previous record was 116 set at The Nursery on the Green in London. Now, who would have thought little known Hornbill School that’s dedicated to children of the British army, tucked in the confines of the British Garrison would someday ‘kick arse’ and put Seria on the world map. The attempt to break the record was the brainchild of Daz King and Kris Sanders, two military personnel based at the British Army Garrison in Seria. Subject to confirmation by The Guinness Book of World Records, Hornbill School’s incredible turn out of 575 people dressed as sunflowers trounced all previous records by a whopping 251%. Well done, Hornbill School — I’m excited and hope the record gets into the Guinness world record books. This blog post is my 600th, no world record here but a significant milestone no less!

A morning enjoyed by many especially fun loving kids from the school. Like any regular extra curricular activity except this one broke a world record presently held by a school in the UK.

The large majority of this number was made up of the staff and children of Hornbill School, who had worked feverishly all week (in between lessons, of course!) to make the costumes for the record attempt.

Fisheye lens effectively squeezed a pretty large congregation of 'sunflowers' into one frame. The participants were also pretty?

I've been on numerous official photographic missions for the Brunei Economic Development Board via Royal Brunei Air Force's Bell 212 capturing the gorgeous Temburong sunrise to documenting traffic jams at Sungai Liang to Sungai Tujoh borders! I miss hanging out of the chopper

The number of participants were double, triple-checked as students walked back into school compound. The number present on the field had earlier been registered at point of entry.
