WONDER FULL MOMENTS OF MARINA BAY SANDS AFTER EARTH HOUR 2011 AT FULLERTON BAY HOTEL

The Hotel’s inspiring glass façade, designed by Singapore-based DP Architects, embodies the true spirit of the Marina Bay waterfront. The diamond-shaped glass structure stands out against the city skyline as it illuminates above the waters. Guests will enter the hotel through a 17-metre wide lobby at the historic Clifford Pier, an important heritage site which saw the arrival of many of Singapore’s early settlers. The hotel’s glamorous and exquisite interior designs are richly steeped in Singapore’s vibrant history with Fu using vintage nautical maps and commissioned contemporary art that reflect the celebration of heritage and modernity in the Lion City. — TFBH

The Landing Point — “Built in 1933, Clifford Pier was a landing point for immigrants and other sea passengers. The Landing Point derives its name as it signifies the long passage way the early settlers took upon setting foot at the pier.”

This is a 30-seconds hand-held long exposure twirl shot of the iconic Marina Bay Sands. This is the only attempt I made and got it right the first time. (click on image to view the bad shot) 🙂

“Lantern derives its name from Clifford Pier’s historical Chinese name – “Red Lantern Pier”. It was a landing point for Singapore’s first immigrants and red lanterns used to hang from the pier as a guide to seafarers.”

The Singapore Nightlife Nocturnally Speaking

Believe it or not, our itinerary was so packed that I had almost lost track of the days until our guide reminded us that we’re heading to The Fullerton Bay Hotel for cocktail drinks at the Lantern to mark Earth Hour 2011. It’s here I had my one and only alcoholic beverage — Raspberry Smash Ketel One Vodka with Raspberries and Lime. I had my inaugural Earth Hour 2010 in Brunei and it excited me that I had an opportunity to mark this global occasion in one of the world’s most nocturnally active cities!

If this cocktail drink excites you, check out Lantern’s latest menu
