AN EMPIRE HOTEL AND COUNTRY CLUB PANORAMA

The Empire Hotel & Country Club in Brunei Darussalam recently updated their official website. Among the new images showcased throughout the pages are some of the photographs I took for the hotel’s new interactive TV in-room dining experience (work in progress) are used on the dining page. Picking up where I had left off after the Somboi-Somboi shoot for tourism promo assignment, I discovered a new vantage point that I hadn’t come across before and understandably so, being somewhat acrophobic it wasn’t an idea I would jump for joy. However, seeing how the elements of harsh shadows from the strong evening sun and gorgeous green landscape played so well for this breathtaking panorama, the view of the ocean and horizon from this new vantage point redefined the term infinity pool.

  1. No safety harness at all? A dangerous sniper spot, Jan. Most high rise would have “barricaded” access to the roof’s edge. This roof runs flat, then drops off. WOW. While I’m not acrophobic, it’s still a dangerous stint. Good shot, Gavin.

But, then, the rewards are sweet. The bird’s eye view of the hotel’s grounds is very rewarding. Well done. Well done, both.
