Following the results from the Keep the Cheerful Moment Forever photo competition on Facebook, I received a parcel from Silicon Power in Taiwan slightly over a week before Chinese New Year. Inside were three items: a set of postcards of the winning entries, a 2011 calendar and Silicon Power 16GB SDHC flash card. Adhering to the theme, I picked one of the Cherry Blossoms photos I shot in Taiwan in 2010. I’m delighted this photo was chosen for December 2011, the time of the year for festive holidays and vacation. Thanks also go to every single one who voted for this entry. You know who you are!
“Celebrating first day of Chinese New Year and Valentine’s Day on Feb 14, 2010 at the Formosa Aboriginal Culture Village in Taichung, Taiwan. An air of romance and cheers from the poetic beauty of the cherry blossoms made the celebration unique and unforgettable.” — Jan Shim
The Cherry Blossoms photo was taken on the first day of Chinese New Year in 2010 which coincided with Valentine’s Day. By some fateful and festive coincidence, the photo below was taken on the first day of Chinese New Year 2011 when my relatives visited. Being a voter, she was quick to pose for a pic with the winning items from Taiwan.
I think our most fun and memorable festive anniversary get-together was Festive Footprints in 2009.
