I start my day with a hot cup of Nescafe Gold before the day’s event gets a chance to wake me up. In a typical work day, the days starts with a 1 hour 15 mins commute from where I live to my client’s location in the Brunei capital. If caffeine doesn’t perk me up this early, adrenalin from the morning rush sure does—each time and every time! However, at the end of a long day, dehydration and the hours take a toll before the body aches kick in. To help fight imminent fatigue from the commute home, I would stop by Coffee Bean for a (double) shot of Cappuccino and occasionally a bite in the form of Smoked Salmon w/ Panini Bread for B$12.20—the cappuccino is B$4.70, small price to pay for a safer commute!

  1. Hey Nicholas,

It’s 11.20 pm and I’m watching Seinfeld, updating my blog, post processing some images all powered by my 3rd cup … or is that my 4th?

    Thanks for visiting.

  2. I have to say I try to stay away from coffee on weekdays but unfortunately with StarBucks/Seattle Best Coffee on every corner in the world it really makes it harder. Now I drink coffee just to relax and hanging out with my friends. In addition, coffee no longer has the affect on me as it did 8 years ago.

So as I get older, I have to take caffeine pills in order to function on those days where I don’t get enough sleep like last night. It is really depressing as a woman to look at yourself in the mirror and see that no expensive eye cream will be able to depuff your eyes from lack of sleep.

  3. I have on numerous occasions tried to quit coffee, switched to various tea flavours and found myself back to my trusty Nescafe Gold. Coffee no longer gives me the perk during the day and for some strange reason it’s really effective at night and particularly useful when I need to finish some O/T work—when the eyes start to feel heavy at 10-11pm a cup of Nescafe Gold opens them up wide till 2 AM. Warning: this can be habit forming and end up with puffy eyes no promise of instant eye lift creams can fix.

Be real. Let me know what you think ...
