STRUCTURES AMONG US

Although telecommunication towers are a common sight everywhere you go in Brunei, it is however not often that a one gets erected in our neighbourhood. It began when men in coveralls showed up and with each passing day, the once deep dark empty hole they had dug up began to take shape.  From a concrete foundation to metal ensemble heading skywards, it became clear that we would soon  have  a second mobile tower in the vicinity. The red-white paint dispelled notion that the new tower belonged to DST considering there’s already a TelBru tower just a stone’s throw away. The first tower helped boost my Zoom HSDPA broadband to 5-bar signal and incredible download speeds (unfortunately also features frequent disconnections). What would be the purpose of the second tower, my inquisitive mind wonders?

Love the halo, flare and colourful rings from pointing the lens directly at the late morning sun.

I am acrophonic (a fear of heights) and this isn't the kind of altitude I would work at given a choice. These workers have my utmost respect for having the courage to brave the elements.
