December 6, 2008 A short but productive weekend in Singapore. Took this photo during a family lunch at the Kallang food court on the eve of the 2008 Singapore Marathon. A reader commented that this brand of tea was once featured on TV .. hmm .. I shot a celebri-tea without even knowing it.

November 19, 2008 Yamata Wasabi Nuts comprising of peanut, broad bean, green beans, coconut oil, salt, honey, mustard powder. Addictive stuff!

I AM IN DENIAL. I don’t fancy chocolates nor do I fancy nuts of any sort. At least, that’s what I tell myself that every time I see boxes of chocs or shelves full of nuts at the local supermarket. BUT, I love Ferrero Rochers which are essentially chocolates and nuts rolled into a ball wrapped with gold coloured foil. Shame the foil isn’t the edible variety! :)

Had Japanese Cha Soba (Japanese cold noodles) and Somen (thin, white noddles)for lunch yesterday except this time my wife prepared them as I was out to get a badminton racket restrung and fried rice take-out for my son who isn’t keen on Japanese noodles. Asian noodles that’s called kolomee would without hesitation yield an opposite reaction!

My daughter Jewel loves nothing more than Japanese Unagi (Eel) rice when it comes to dining out besides Fratini’s brilliant Caesar Salad or the version that is named after her JEWEL’S INSALATA DI SALMONE. The Unagi rice was made by my mom exclusively for Jewel but she was nice enough to let me photograph it first before her indulgence. It can be quite troubling to have good cooks in the house which is just bad as having a short drive to eateries that serve them! The bokeh alone in this picture is sweet!
