While shopping for a SanDisk 64GB MicroSD card at Changi Airport last night, I came across a super wide lens accessory produced by ib-F40. Instead of the popular magnetic case design they released for the Apple iPhone 4 this design clips the lens firmly to any compatible camera phone. I couldn’t resist the staff’s suggestion to give it a go on my S3 seeing how incredibly difficult it is to find a decent wide angle lens that’s made for this phone.

Below are before and after examples of how wide a perspective this lens gives you including one additional photo of my son shot from across the aisle (you know just how tight seats are on a plane).

Looks well built and expensive! :)

Great Review! I have just ordered one from eBay for Galaxy Note 2 after seeing this post.
To get the rubbish soft image? :D blind man
Which terminal is this? & do they sell other s3 lenses?
Cameras Electronics Computers store by Sprint-Cass @ Terminal 2 – Hard to miss.
Thanks for the pictures. However the picture quality (see the 2nd picture) makes me worried : so much blur on the external sides of the pictures…
Corner softness on ultra wide angle lenses is not uncommon as you can expect to find even on high end DSLR lenses. This lens is by no means premium grade so its inherent softness is something I had expected even without having to examine the images up close. My usual work lens, a professional Canon EF 17-40 f/4 L lens, exhibits edge softness when shooting on full frame EOS 5D Mark III and Mark II bodies.
the quality is shit ..honestly.. I made one myself from broken Canon lenses and it is sharp all over the image even in corners..and even wider..
Sounds like you take your smartphone wides very seriously. If your home made lens escalates to production someday, please post back to let my readers know where they can pick one up – am sure there are more than a few folks who demand corner to corner sharpness.
