Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration in Brunei this year coincided nicely with the weekend. Not any regular weekend but a festive holiday long weekend to the tune of 5 consecutive days coinciding also with the school holidays. Originally we wanted to visit Kota Kinabalu but lucked out on cheap air fares so scrapped that idea and opted to join my in-laws for an overnight stay in Miri instead. While traffic on Miri roads was characteristically light, restaurants during lunch hour was anything but empty. Our first stop was Good Taste Bak Kut Teh and boy were we lucky to be spared a table for 11 starved Bruneians. As usual I brought along the Canon Powershot G11 but ended up shooting with the Galaxy S3 instead — always a toss between bulk and convenience.

The next day, we stopped by QQ Beijing Roasted Duck Specialist for lunch before returning home.

Popular restaurants such as QQ Beijing Roasted Duck Specialist is understandably packed during meal times. I swear just about every other eatery that serves decent food and have a following would do well.
