This year the Green House team emerged as Overall Champions at the Chung Ching Middle School 2011 Sports Meet. Hot as all previous meets have been in recently memory, this year’s event is most memorable for me. It was my daughter Jewel’s first ever participation in a running event, a 4 x 100m relay and certainly an event not encouraged for someone prone to migraine because all attack triggers are there—extreme heat, exhaustion, over exertion. During one of her rehearsals, she had come home with an episode enough to have us try to talk her out of joining the race. In spite of the pain, she was relentless about being there for her team—Green House—a commitment we admire in children. The face of TAIB Insurance and Fratini’s Caesar Salad is now all grown up!
The Green House motto: TOGETHER AS ONE, DEFEATED BY NONE!
A 3-secs video clip made from a composite of 40 sequential Canon 5D MkII stills.
Some of the split-second moments in the video better appreciated in a series of still photographs.

Jewel keeps an eye on the competition while maintaining strong strides.

Jewel hits the NOS switch going fast and definitely furious towards her team member!

Smooth transition of the baton from Jewel to her last team mate for the winning sprint!

Nice shots of Jewel especially in the passing of baton. Really love these photos showing her in action.
House sport meets were always a thrill. I used to run track but stopped. Ran in a road race and asked myself during the race why was I doing it? :) But afterwards, getting my second place trophy was a good enough reason for me.
