LEXUS LX 570. AN ULTIMATE PURSUIT.
March 14, 2008 by Jan Shim
In my 2007 post A PERFECT MOMENT I showcased the LS 460, Lexus’ new and present luxury flagship at their road show in the oil town. The many comments I received over IM regarding the images had one common observation—exterior shots were absent. Well, guess what? That hasn’t changed although this time, I made an effort to include a little bit of the exterior though still subtle. Reason is simple as I explained to the Lexus folks this morning. The venue where the road show is held just isn’t conducive, photographically speaking, to photograph the vehicles in their entirety—unsightly distractions from the road and adjacent building that are mirrored onto the vehicle shiny body quickly dampens the spirit of luxury—trust me, you don’t want that!

Unlike the LS 460 sedan, this $150,000 off-road luxury sedan does not have a massaging rear seat. I suppose a car that’s designed to handle the less beaten track, there’s plenty of natural movements to render a massage seat pointless (equally pointless would be the additional cost overhead from having one). However, the LX 570 packs a lot of punch in the engine department and luxury everywhere you look and feel.
The attention to detail is what separates Lexus from everything else and while its more down-to-earth sibling, the Land Cruiser (also affectionately called a Land Bruiser) is no slouch when it comes to amenities, the LX 570 simply has more without being over bearing. The engine compartment is no surprise.

A visitor at the road show demonstrates an exciting feature of the LX 570, electronically assisted rear seats that are independently controlled on from the button panel. Anyone who is familiar with the Land Cruiser knows how heavy those seats are to lift up and secure. Now you get the seats folded up at a touch of a button.

In the gallery you’ll see HID lights, active suspension controls, avant garde instrument panels, a tailgate mounted reverse camera, electronic tailgate door switch, semi-automatic transmission, etc.

nice, i do think pictures of the exterior would be great. but with your expertise the illustrated pics are superb. i have always been a fan of Lexus, but sadly had no idea about this model. i am a big fan of cars on a whole, and just the sight of a rear light will have my heart racing. i find these pics to be awesome great work Jan only you can highlight the inner beauty of perfection, like you did here.
I’ll have one in pearl white please. I am buying white this time because it makes the car look BIGGER, to make sure my timber tycoon and property developer friends will see me coming.
Can you help to arrange the white fabric seat covers to be installed before delivery? I want to make sure it is suitable for someone of VIP status like me ma.
And can you make sure they include the fuzzy dice for the rear view mirror this time? I mean, there’s no point selling the attention to detail when it gets lost in the final delivery is it? Like… helloooo?
I shall be using my newly acquired plates, KK333. Yes, I love the number too. It symbolizes my rise, and rise, and rise! I almost lost this plate to that pesky BMW lover next door. Luckily I decided to bid B$33,338.00 instead of my usual B$33,333.00.
That reminds me, I need to go and get the latest taiwanese minnanhua CDs so I can put them all in the CD-Changer. I’m sure I’ll enjoy listening to Teresa Teng on the 53 speaker sound system.
Ok, so after register the car, send to my house ah? Thanks you.
(Apologies in advance to those who took this seriously)

anakbrunei is so hilarious.
Jan, I am looking forward to his comments more than your post. HEHEHEHE! Nice photos, beautiful car. Btw, $150K and no rear massaging seats?! Hey, I expect everything including the kitchen sink to be included with this car. For this price, don’t you just push a button and the car drives by itself? :)) So . . . when are you getting yours ~ especially the white one (so that your car can look BIGGER)! I wonder what’s going to be your license plate number?
Exterior pictures are aplenty if you Google it. It’s the interior shots that aren’t in abundance that I was keen to produce. Going there early on the first day meant that traffic was low and I had a lot of time to compose my shots for that moody feel of luxury!
[...] Personally, exterior look wise, I much prefer the previous model. I find that it’s too low but my husband said, it’s probably the setting of the suspension. The interior however was something else and you can see the finer details at Jan Shim’s. [...]
cool shots! well though LEXUS isn’t my choice but yea your images are dramatic. hehe
