It’s the holiday season and the year is quickly coming to a close. With Christmas just around the corner, there’s every reason to celebrate this festive month and the December month is also popular for Chinese and Malay weddings alike. After a year of self-imposed absence from wedding photography, I shot my first and only Chinese wedding this year—that of Adeline Heng & Ronald Chan.

With only 3 hours of sleep between their wedding reception at Orchid Garden Hotel and traditional tea ceremony the next morning, powered by Korean instant noodles, Nescafe Gold and our energy and commitment to our clients, my partner Anthony and I produced a higher than usual number of images from this ceremonious event. The rest of this week is dedicated to getting the images ready to be couriered on DVD to the exhausted but excited couple in Hong Kong!

It’s certainly a December to remember. This week has been productive. On Dec 11 while the bride & groom visited Malaysia with the groom’s parents, I took the evening off to attend His Majesty the Emperor of Japan’s 74th Birthday Celebration (an event I missed last year).

Update: December 15, 2007
All’s well. Despite an unexpected power outage on Thursday that lasted 6 hours, I finished with circa 2,500 images that almost filled a single layer DVD to the brim. As a matter of precaution, I produced several sets on two different media just in case of incompability off they went to HK by FedEx this morning. Wedding gallery is arranged in the order of the two day proceedings–dinner reception followed by tea ceremony the next morning.
